Shoprider Mobility Scooter
A Guide to the Shoprider Mobility Scooter
Shoprider has been in the business of manufacturing both power chairs and scooter since 1988 and
the Shoprider mobility scooter is considered one of the premier scooters on the market thanks
to their innovative designs, advanced features and pricing that makes them affordable for almost everyone. At
one time they were only available in the US where they were made, now they are available through many different
sources in the UK.
There are currently 17 different models of Shoprider mobility scooters available, this is to
make sure that there is a model to suit every budget and taste. The Altea is their smallest and lightest model
weighing in at only 32 kg (70 pounds) and comes in both a 3 wheel and 4 wheel configurations. The Altea is designed
to be easy to disassemble and stow in the boot of your car for easy transportation and comes with puncture proof

Scooter
If you want to step up to a slightly better model without having to deal with a
super heavy scooter you cannot go wrong with the Superlite Shoprider mobility scooter which weighs
in at 40 kg (88 pounds) and is capable of carrying up to 89 kg (196 pounds).
This model has a range of 20 km (12.5 miles) on a full charge at 6 kph (3.8
mph). When you move up to the Cameo you have a choice between the Cameo 3 with centre mounted twin

Street
Models
If you are looking for models that can be run on the street you need to take a look at the
Perrero, Perez, Cadiz, Torino, Cardoba or the Milan. All of these models are capable of going 13 kph (87 mph) as
required by law for a scooter to be operated on the open road. The Perrero and the Perez are the lighter members of
the set weighing in at 94 kg (207 pounds) and 96 kg (211 pounds) respectively while at other end of the spectrum
are the Torino, Cardoba and Milan which all weigh 140 kg (308 pounds) but if you are looking for maximum carrying
ability you need the Cardoba which can haul an amazing 222 kg (490 pounds) up to 56 km (35 miles) at 13 kph (8
mp).
Choosing the right Shoprider mobility scooter can be a challenge, you need to take into account
who will be using the scooter and how it will be used. There are differences between scooters made for outside use
and those made for mostly indoor use. Ultimately you need to try and take the person who is getting the scooter to
a showroom where they can see the different models and try them out to see which one they like best. Barring this
some companies will bring demonstrators to your home to make sure that you get the scooter that suits your needs
best.
